• Reception

    This is the desk where all visitors report when first coming onto campus.  The Reception team are very happy to help you with directions to buildings if you get lost.  If you are a resident, this is also the place you come to collect any parcels delivered to you.

  • HE Study Centre

     

    The HE Study Centre can be found at the top of the Salisbury car park.  It is a dedicated space for HE students to study and socialise.  There is a study room which has a bank of computers and some smaller individual study rooms.  There is also a social area with hot tap as well as a picnic area outside for when the weather is good.

  • Aquatics research and conservation centre

    The centre offers students opportunities in system management, the husbandry and maintenance of species and through the many capture breeding projects that are preserving endangered species: active conservation.

    Marine habitats have been recreated to replicate a range of ecological systems, from mangroves to reefs, and access to the Institute of Marine Sciences at the University of Portsmouth provides bespoke teaching and learning facilities in local marine environments.

  • Animal Health and Welfare Research Centre (Companion Animals)

    The state-of-the-art centre uses advanced welfare practices and digital technology that will add to the range of techniques, skills and industry know-how that you learn on your degree course.

    The most recently built section contains the base for companion animals studies.  Our older building now houses the zoo animal collection (but both building can be found in the same place).

  • Vet Nursing Centre

    The facility is equipped to represent a contemporary veterinary practice which allows you to gain realistic experience in a work setting. You are able to use these facilities to relate your theory work to relevant practical elements for your future career.

  • HE1 and HE2

    These teaching rooms can be found at the top of the Sainsbury’s car park.  (Sainsbury’s is a building here on campus – we don’t have our own large supermarket !)

  • Sainsbury Building

    The Sainsbury Building is where some teaching on the HE courses takes place.  It’s not a big supermarket !  The Norman lecture theatre can be found here as well as the science labs where you will do your lab practicals.  There area also some dedicated teaching rooms for seminars and smaller lectures.

  • Equine Centre

    Horses are carefully selected by either purchase or loan to provide you with the opportunity to develop a range of riding skills and provide a diverse research population for projects and dissertations.

    With stabling for up to 66 horses, the Equine Centre also has a large indoor arena/menage as well as extensive outside space.  You have access to a range of equipment such as hay bars, a covered horse-walker, weightbridge, hot shower and solarium with infra-red heat lamps, grass rides and cross-country schooling.

  • Farm

    Our working farm is set within 126 hectares of Hampshire countryside, as well as a further 134 hectares at another site. This provides a real work environment for training and skills development. There are a number of farm units that operate on a commercial basis and students undertake regular farm duties if this is part of their course requirements.

  • Sports Centre

    The Sport Centre opened in 2014 and includes a full size sports hall, an exercise studio with sprung floor, a fully equipped fitness suite and a purpose built state of the art climbing wall. The new climbing wall includes natural rock features, overhangs and a number of sport routes to suit climbers of all abilities.

  • Shop

    The College shop is your on campus stop for essential items.  The shop sells a range of hot and cold snack foods and drinks.  Basic kitchen cupboard items (liked baked beans) and stationary are also available as well as a range of personal care products (toothpaste, shampoo etc.)

    The shop is generally open during the day time during term times – but keep an eye on any changes to opening times as they appear on posters on or near the shop.

  • Wellbeing Hub

    Student Services is where you can find lots of different teams who can support you

    Wellbeing Team – lots of help, support and advice if you are struggling with mental health issues or just feeling a bit lost or confused and need someone to talk to.

  • Saxony Crescent

    Saxony Crescent is one of the first things you come to as you enter the main part of the campus. It is a good place to start from if you are looking for specific buildings, as most of these are signposted from Saxony Crescent.   It is the place were many of the College buses pull in and collect students at the end of the day.  You will need to check your bus stops though, as some public transport buses collect and drop off at other places on campus.

  • MJ’s

    MJ’s is our student social space.  You will find a range of fast food outlets such as Joe De Frango’s here.  You can either take your food away or use one of the relaxed spaces to enjoy your meal.  There are some snooker/pool tables and space for you to meet and mix with other Sparsholt students.  MJ’s can get quite busy and noisy around meal times.

  • Bytes restaurant

    Bytes is open daily from breakfast through to dinner.  It offers a range of hot and cold meals and snacks and a place where you can sit and eat.

    Bytes can get quite busy during peak meal times, so if you prefer a quieter space, you can purchase a take away from here and either enjoy some outdoor space if it’s sunny or take your food back to your kitchen space in your accommodation.
